Meet Treg

Raised by a single mother, Treg learned early the value of hard work, responsibility, and solving problems when there was no easy answer. He started working young – delivering newspapers, detasseling corn, and working agricultural jobs, and later worked nights while putting himself through college. He attended the U.S. Air Force Academy before earning his bachelor’s degree in political science and law degree from Brigham Young University.

After law school, Treg came to Alaska and began building a legal career that spanned both the private and public sectors. He worked in commercial litigation and later served as counsel for McKinley Capital Management and senior counsel for ASRC Energy Services. In 2018, he joined the Alaska Department of Law as Deputy Attorney General overseeing the Civil Division. He became Alaska’s Attorney General in 2021 and served in that position until August 2025.

Treg and his wife, Jodi, have also built their life in Alaska. They are small-business owners and have raised their six children in Anchorage. That experience has given Treg a personal connection to many of the issues Alaska families face, from education and public safety to the cost of living and creating opportunities that allow the next generation to stay and build lives of their own in Alaska.

As Attorney General, Treg’s work frequently centered on building partnerships and using Alaska’s Department of Law to address statewide and national issues. The department participated in more than 80 legal challenges involving federal actions during his tenure. He also served as chairman of the Attorney General Alliance, a bipartisan organization representing attorneys general from states and territories across the country. As chairman, he launched a cybersecurity initiative focused on consumer protection, critical infrastructure, data privacy, artificial intelligence, and emerging digital threats.

His emphasis on collaboration extended to other areas of the department. During his tenure, the Department of Law formalized a more accessible process for Alaskans to request investigative grand juries and expanded its engagement with Alaska Tribes through dedicated Civil and Criminal Division tribal liaisons.

Now, Treg is running for governor because he believes Alaska’s best days are still ahead. He and Jodi have built their family, their business, and their lives here, and they want their children and every Alaskan family to have the opportunity to do the same. For Treg, that means building safer communities, stronger schools, a growing economy, responsible resource development, and a government that works better for the people it serves. His focus is not simply on what Alaska needs to push back against, but on what Alaskans can build together for the next generation.

Candi English is a builder.

Meet Candi

Candi learned early that the circumstances you are given do not have to determine what you build with them. She survived polio as a child, spending time in an iron lung and leg braces. With the encouragement of a mother who refused to let others define what her daughter could accomplish, Candi went to school, grew independent, and developed the persistence that would shape the rest of her life.

She built a career in the energy industry, spending roughly two decades with ARCO Alaska and working on the North Slope. What began in an administrative role grew into work that relied on Candi’s ability to understand the details, solve problems, and help teams make consequential decisions.

Then she built something of her own.

In 2007, Candi founded Northern Solutions. What began as a small workforce-solutions business grew into an Alaska company providing engineering, machining, manufacturing, specialized labor, and oilfield support. Northern Solutions now operates facilities in Anchorage and Deadhorse, and its team has developed patented technology for drilling, workover, and intervention applications.

But Candi’s story is about more than building a company. She built a family while building a career. She created jobs, trained and mentored young Alaskans, gave talented people opportunities to put their skills to work, and encouraged employees to bring new ideas to the table. One of those ideas ultimately grew into patented technology, the kind of Alaska ingenuity and grit that comes from giving people the opportunity to create, solve problems, and take ownership of their work.

Through every stage of her life, Candi has approached challenges much the same way: understand the problem, bring good people together, and build something that works.

Candi has spent her life building in Alaska. Her next chapter is about helping build Alaska’s future.

Building Alaska’s Future, One Win at a Time

As Alaska’s Attorney General, Treg was unanimously elected by Democrats, Independents, and Republicans from across the country to chair the Attorney General Alliance.

In that role, he built bipartisan coalitions and helped advance initiatives like holding Big Pharma accountable, protecting data privacy, and protecting kids from the dangers of social media and online exploitation.

At the same time, Candi was building her own Alaska legacy, growing Northern Solutions from a small consulting operation into a successful business serving some of the state’s largest industries.

Together, their careers reflect decades of work, leadership, and service in Alaska.

Crime at 40-Year Lows: Alaska’s violent crime rate is down, sexual assault down 15% last year and 25% since 2018.

Put Murderers Behind Bars: Cold case prosecutors have now solved 10 murders, some dating back to the 1970s.

Held Drug Dealers Accountable: Changed the law so fentanyl dealers who kill face second-degree murder charges.

Defended Life-Saving Access: Fought in court to secure a road connecting King Cove to Cold Bay for emergency medical evacuations, to save lives in rural Alaska.

Held Big Tech Accountable: Sued Google for deceptive data tracking and forced the company to change its privacy practices with $1.5 million paid to Alaska.

Protected Alaskans from Scams: Took on fake “timeshare exit” schemes, fraudulent auto dealers, and robocall scams.

Took on Big Pharma: Fought the opioid crisis by securing $100 million from opioid manufacturers and $3 million from Johnson & Johnson for misleading Alaskans.

Stopped False “Alaska Made” Claims: Enforced the law against businesses that lied about the origin of their products, protecting Alaskan craftsmen.

3,000 rape kits off the shelf: Alaska processed more than 3,000 sexual assault kits that had been sitting untested from communities across the state, some of them for years.

Kept rural prosecutors on the job: When the federal grant funding Alaska’s rural prosecution team ran out, Treg kept the unit running. In 2024 alone, it handled 135 cases — 51 sexual felonies and 21 homicides — in communities where the district attorney’s office is chronically short-staffed.

20 years on the North Slope, an Alaska business built from the ground up, 2,500 Willow construction jobs and 300 permanent jobs defended, Alaska opportunity protected.

Defended the Willow Project: When national environmental groups tried to stop Conoco’s $8 billion project, Treg led the defense and won. 600 million barrels of oil, 2,500 construction jobs, 300 permanent jobs, and over $2.5 billion in state and North Slope Borough revenue were protected.

Stopped Washington D.C.’s Resource Lockdowns: Treg sued and blocked the Biden administration’s illegal moratoriums and “critical habitat” land grabs the size of Texas.

Protected Alaska’s Power Grid: Treg sued the EPA to stop new rules that would’ve raised power costs for Alaskans — and won relief.

Reigned in Federal Bureaucrats: Treg advocated in support of the case that ended “Chevron deference,” reining in unelected federal agencies from interpreting the law, restoring balance to the Constitution.

Stopped Radical DEI & ESG Mandates: Treg challenged illegal hiring quotas, politicized investing, and woke corporate overreach that threatened Alaskan’s ability to bank, get insurance, and secure jobs.

Stopped the EPA’s Power Grab: Treg helped win the Sackett v. EPA case at the U.S. Supreme Court, restoring property rights for Alaskans and limiting federal control of state land.

Built Northern Solutions from the Ground Up: After a 20-year career with ARCO Alaska, Candi founded Northern Solutions in 2007 and built it into an Anchorage-based company serving Alaska’s oil and gas industry.

Turned Alaska Ideas Into Patented Tools: Candi expanded Northern Solutions beyond workforce support into engineering and manufacturing, including patented tools used in the oil and gas industry.

Expanded Alaska Manufacturing: Candi grew Northern Solutions’ industrial capabilities and operates Northern Solutions LLC dba Unique Machine, an Anchorage machining and oilfield-services operation.

Created Opportunities in Alaska’s Energy Industry: Under Candi’s leadership, Northern Solutions grew from a workforce-solutions business into a company providing engineering, manufacturing, and industrial support for Alaska oil and gas operations.

Built a Long-Standing Alaska Business: Northern Solutions has operated in Alaska since 2007, with Candi listed as an owner and member of the company.

Brought Decades of North Slope Experience to Business: Before founding Northern Solutions, Candi spent roughly two decades working with ARCO Alaska on the North Slope, bringing that industry experience into her own company.

Saved Alaska’s Commercial Chinook Fishery: When out-of-state activists tried to shut down Southeast’s king salmon season, Treg beat them in court, keeping boats on the water and Alaska fishermen working.

Protected the Cook Inlet Salmon Fishery: Won a major legal battle stopping the federal government from taking over state-managed waters.

22,000 correspondence students defended, parental-notification rules enforced, Big Tech challenged, and women’s sports protections backed.

Protected Parental Choice: When political operatives tried to kill Alaska’s correspondence school program, Treg defended 22,000 students and their parents. He preserved the right of every family to choose how and where their kids are educated.

Put Parents Back in Charge: Treg forced school districts to follow the law and notify parents at least two weeks before any sex-ed or human reproduction classes, allowing parents to remove their children from objectionable lessons.

Protected Kids from Big Tech: Treg led investigations into Meta, Google, and other platforms for exposing kids to sexual content and unsafe AI. Joined 44 states demanding action — and won real change.

Defended Parental Rights Nationwide: Treg filed amicus briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court supporting parents whose children were secretly “socially transitioned” at school — and forced the national conversation back to parental authority.

Every year, Alaskans are paying the price for high bycatch. Salmon runs are down across the state. I have fond memories of taking my kids king salmon fishing every year and now that tradition just isn’t possible for most Alaskans. Treg and Candi’s plan for restoring Alaska’s runs and putting Alaskans first.

As a father of six, education has always been personal to him. Candi brings that same personal perspective as a mother, along with decades of experience building an Alaska business, training and mentoring young Alaskans, and helping them build careers and opportunities here at home. Together, they bring experience from both the family and workplace perspective to Alaska’s education challenges, with a focus on strong schools, correspondence programs, workforce preparation, and greater opportunity for Alaska’s kids.

Public Safety

As Attorney General, Treg implemented policies that drove crime to a 40-year low and helped cut sexual assaults by 25%. A tough prosecutor and proven crime fighter, he will continue to crack down on crime and protect Alaskans. Too many politicians—especially in Anchorage—are reversing these gains with failed policies that fuel rising crime and homelessness. Treg will hold them accountable and keep our communities safe.

PFD

When Alaska’s economy was strong, Juneau wasn’t constantly fighting over the PFD. Economic prosperity is the real solution to this problem.

The ongoing battle over the PFD is a symbol of what’s broken in Juneau: too much politics, not enough economic growth. The dividend should not be a political football.

Alaska should pay the largest PFD we can afford, based on sound principles, not political games. Alaskans know better than politicians how to spend their own money. By growing our economy, restoring discipline to government, and enshrining the PFD in our constitution, Treg and Candi will protect the PFD and move Alaska forward together.
