Meet Treg

Treg Taylor’s story is Alaska’s story. Raised by a single mom, he learned early that you don’t wait for someone else to solve your problems. You step up, you fight, and you protect what matters.

Treg Taylor has never shied away from a fight. As Attorney General, he fought crime, fought Joe Biden, and fought for Alaska — taking on criminals who threaten our communities and standing up to Washington’s overreach. He confronted career politicians in Juneau, went toe-to-toe with the radicals in Anchorage, and pushed back when Washington, D.C. tried to shut down our way of life. Treg protected parents’ rights, held Big Pharma accountable, and always defended our Second Amendment rights and the freedoms that make Alaska great.

Now, Treg is running for governor to write a new chapter for the Last Frontier — one where Alaskans can afford to live and thrive, our energy dominance is secure, our communities are safe, government works efficiently, and our independent heritage is protected for generations. 


Treg’s story is Alaska’s story. Raised by a single mom — with his dad not in the picture — he learned early what it takes to survive and succeed. He learned you don’t wait for someone else to solve your problems — you step up, you fight, and you protect what matters. He worked from an early age — delivering newspapers before sunrise, detasseling corn under the summer sun, mucking out silos, and later holding down two jobs to pay his way through college. What was forged in Treg as a boy — that toughness and independence — is what built the Last Frontier itself.

After law school, Treg came to Alaska and built a respected career as a litigator, serving in both public and private sectors before becoming Deputy Attorney General in 2018 and Attorney General in 2021. In every role, he leaned into the toughest battles — whether fighting Biden in court, cracking down on criminals, or defending the right of parents to determine their kids’ education. 


As Attorney General, Treg has stood shoulder to shoulder with President Trump to unleash Alaskan energy and protect our way of life. He’s taken on anyone — Republican or Democrat — who put politics ahead of Alaskans. And he’s proven he can win, beating back Biden’s land grabs, vaccine mandates, and attacks on our energy jobs. As the top law enforcement officer in the state, Treg fought crime, fought Biden, and fought for Alaska.

Treg attended the Air Force Academy and graduated from Brigham Young University with degrees in political science and law. A rugby and football player, Treg put himself through college by working nights. Treg and his wife, Jodi, are small business owners who are raising their six children in Anchorage. They know the challenges of life in Alaska — and they’re committed to making sure the next generation can thrive right here at home.

Protected Alaskans from Scams: Took on fake “timeshare exit” schemes, fraudulent auto dealers, and robocall scams.

Took on Big Pharma: Fought the opioid crisis by securing $100 million from opioid manufacturers and $3 million from Johnson & Johnson for misleading Alaskans.

Stopped False “Alaska Made” Claims: Enforced the law against businesses that lied about the origin of their products, protecting Alaskan craftsmen.

Protected Parental Choice: When political operatives tried to kill Alaska’s correspondence school program, Treg defended 22,000 students and their parents. He preserved the right of every family to choose how and where their kids are educated.

Put Parents Back in Charge: Forced school districts to follow the law and notify parents at least two weeks before any sex-ed or human reproduction classes, allowing parents to remove their children from objectionable lessons.

Protected Kids from Big Tech: Led investigations into Meta, Google, and other platforms for exposing kids to sexual content and unsafe AI. Joined 44 states demanding action — and won real change.

Defended Parental Rights Nationwide: Filed amicus briefs in the U.S. Supreme Court supporting parents whose children were secretly “socially transitioned” at school — and forced the national conversation back to parental authority.

Held Big Tech Accountable: Sued Google for deceptive data tracking and forced the company to change its privacy practices, with $1.5 million paid to Alaska.

Protected Women’s Sports: Filed U.S. Supreme Court briefs defending biological women’s right to fair competition.

Defended Alaska’s Predator Control Program: Protected efforts to rebuild the Mulchatna caribou herd — ensuring healthy wildlife and local subsistence.

Secured Alaska’s Ownership of Navigable Waters and Ability to Traverse Federal Lands: From the Fortymile River to the Sarkar Canoe Route, Treg fought, and won, recognition of Alaska’s rightful ownership of its waterways and ability to use rights of way across federal lands for recreation, hunting, mining, and fishing.

Defended Alaska’s Hunters: When Biden doubled down on Obama era federal regulations restricting the way we hunt in Alaska, Treg fought back to defend Alaskan’s hunting rights.

Stopped Washington D.C.’s Resource Lockdowns: Sued and blocked the Biden administration’s illegal moratoriums and “critical habitat” land grabs the size of Texas.

Protected Alaska’s Power Grid: Sued the EPA to stop new rules that would’ve raised power costs for Alaskans — and won relief.

Reigned in Federal Bureaucrats: Advocated in support of the case that ended “Chevron deference,” reining in unelected federal agencies from interpreting the law, restoring balance to the Constitution.

Stopped Radical DEI & ESG Mandates: Challenged illegal hiring quotas, politicized investing, and woke corporate overreach that threatened Alaskan’s ability to bank, get insurance, and secure jobs.

Stopped the EPA’s Power Grab: Helped win the Sackett v. EPA case at the U.S. Supreme Court, restoring property rights for Alaskans and limiting federal control of state land.

Saved Alaska’s Cruise Season: Sued to lift CDC restrictions that would’ve killed an entire season of tourism and thousands of Alaskan jobs and WON.

Put in Place Accessible Tools to Fight Public Corruption: Delineated a process for reporting and investigating public corruption for greater transparency and accessibility.

Improved Tribal Engagement: Created new tribal liaison positions in both the Civil and Criminal divisions to better dialog with the tribes.

Alaska needs an economy that rewards hard work and innovation. By cutting red tape and reforming permitting, we can attract new investment, grow small businesses, and create higher-paying jobs for Alaskans.

Get Juneau Working Again

For too long, political games have paralyzed state government. Budget fights, shrinking dividend checks, endless stalemates, and politicians playing politics instead of solving problems — that isn’t how things should work. Treg isn’t another Juneau politician; he will bring new leadership that builds consensus to solve the challenges facing Alaska. He’s a tough prosecutor and proven fighter who will deliver results and put Alaskans first.

Affordability First

Alaskans are being squeezed by rising costs. Prices for fuel, housing, and everyday goods have climbed faster than paychecks. Treg will fight so Alaskans can afford to live and thrive in Alaska.

Groceries you can afford

Years of inflation thanks to out-of-control spending in DC have driven food prices higher and higher. Treg will fight to keep costs down for Alaska families.

Protect Our Fisheries

Fishing is the backbone of Alaska’s culture and a major economic driver. Treg will fight to protect our fisheries from federal interference, keep them sustainable for future generations, and ensure Alaskans — not Washington bureaucrats — decide how our resources are managed.

Energy Dominance

For years, Alaska’s energy dominance was under attack by the Biden administration. Treg will build on the progress made under President Trump — getting the pipeline built, expanding development, and unlocking Alaska’s vast resources. Responsible development means good-paying jobs, stronger communities, and an America that is energy independent again. Treg has a plan to unleash the potential of Alaska’s abundant mining, lumber, and energy resources.

In Alaska, the right to keep and bear arms is a way of life. Treg will stop Washington, DC’s attempts to restrict law-abiding gun owners and protect the constitutional freedoms that keep Alaska free. As Attorney General, Treg has a proven track record of successfully defending this vital constitutional right.

Education

As the son of a public school teacher, Treg knows every child deserves personal attention and every teacher needs the resources to succeed. As a father of six, he will fight to deliver a world-class education for every Alaskan child. Alaska has dedicated teachers and strong correspondence programs, but Treg knows we can do better for our kids — and he has a plan to make it happen.

Public Safety

As Attorney General, Treg implemented policies that drove crime to a 40-year low and helped cut sexual assaults by 25%. A tough prosecutor and proven crime fighter, he will continue to crack down on crime and protect Alaskans. Too many politicians—especially in Anchorage—are reversing these gains with failed policies that fuel rising crime and homelessness. Treg will hold them accountable and keep our communities safe.
